Instructions to candidates selected for Wallem sponsorship

for BSc NS (IMU) Deck Cadet Training Course - August 2009 batch

at TS Rahman, Nhava or Tolani Maritime Institute, Induri

Welcome into the WALLEM family.

1. Trust that you have submitted all your documents (as indicated earlier) and have successfully undergone the Medical Examination and Psychometry test at our company's doctors in Mumbai.

2. You are required to present your self on Saturday, the 01.08.09 at 1000 hrs at WMTC, Crescent Towers, Oshiwara, Andheri (W) , Mumbai for an induction presentation. It would be preferred that Parents / local guardians attend this presentation.

3. Please bring all your original documents and attested copies of documents in sufficient numbers which were not available with you at the time of documentation / medical examinations held at Mumbai on the 8.7.2009. Some candidates who have already undergone presea training are required to bring their original / attested copies of CDC, INDOS cert, all course certs done by them.

4. Ensure that each one of you are formally attired (leather shoes, regular trousers, full sleeve shirt tucked in, neck tie). All candidates except Sikhs must be clean shaven with a decent haircut).

5. All of you have been allotted your institutes (see your allotted institute below) where you will spend the next 12 months to do your pre-sea training before proceeding at sea to continue your shipboard training on Wallem ships.

6. Depending on your reporting date as mentioned above at the respective institutes you will be required to make arrangements to stay in Mumbai.

7. You are further required to read instructions and submit the following documents (if not done already) depending on the institute you have been allotted.

a. TMI Instructions (take a printout for information)

b. TMI Undertaking. (take printout and submit if not done already)

c. TSR Application form, consent forms and Instructions (take a printout for information and submit if not done already)

d. Wallem instrutions (take a printout for information)

8. Henceforth you will be referred as a TNO (Trainee Navigating Officer).

9. Please register for a gmail email address for all further communications with us (avoid email ids like hotshotanand, crazychiplun, tejanster, fernzypolzy etc). Try and have a shortest email id eg your first name and surname followed by the word TNO if available).

10. IMU has demanded Rs 10,000.00 as counseling fees from sponsored candidates as well, a matter which is yet to be confirmed. In view of this an additional amount of 11,000.00 may be required to be paid by you to us. You make make this payment when you come to WMTC on the 01.08.09 or soon after you join the institute.
